A 6-week reentry financial education program focused on safe banking access, credit reports, debt decisions, and avoiding predatory financial products.
This program is for the people and organizations working through the first money barriers after incarceration.
It works even if a participant does not yet have an ID, a phone, housing, a job, or a bank account. The class meets people where they are.
The same six-week curriculum comes in two forms. They work together. The facility version teaches and plans. The learner version helps people take real steps after release.
For live, facilitator-led classes inside jails, prisons, probation or parole programs, and reentry organizations.
For participants to work through with a facilitator, or on their own after release when they may have a phone.
Each material opens as a web page you can read and print from your browser. You can also download a print-ready PDF or an editable Word (DOCX) file.
The student workbook holds every lesson and worksheet for the six weeks. It is written in plain language. You do not need the internet to use the printed workbook. A facilitator can lead you through it, or you can work through it on your own.
About 90 minutes per session. The schedule can be compressed into fewer longer sessions or stretched into more short ones to fit a facility.
A few things that make this program work in a reentry setting.
This program is education and preparation. It is not advice.
